place2play.ru caused a major upset at TECHLABS Cup Ukraine 2012 by defeating Natus Vincere 16-13 in the final to win the tournament.
The Russian team had already shown that they could not be taken lightly earlier in the day, when they defeated ESC Gaming 16-12 to book a spot in the final, but few expected them to go all the way and win the tournament.
The final was originally expected to be played in a best-of-three mode, but apparently due to Yegor "markeloff" Markelov and Arseny "ceh9" Trynozhenko needing to catch a flight to Dubai, it was played on de_tuscan only.
place2play.ru, who started on the CT side, managed to go into half-time up 8-7, and in the second half they held onto the lead to secure the victory, losing six rounds in the process.
